Street Rodding
It was an exciting event for us, to have the D-Rod featured in the Febuary Issue of Street Rodding. Here is a letter from Christopher Baum, CHME Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing - Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau.
"Yesterday was quite an exciting day for the Detroit Metro CVB AND Detroit Muscle, as The D-Rod shone brightly during a Ypsilanti photo shoot AND track testing at the Chrysler Proving Grounds in Chelsea.
Shod in B.F. Goodrich wide whitewall MUD & SNOW tires, the car turned .82 Gs on the skidpad, smoked a traction-limited 4.1second 0 to 60 time and- hold onto your hat- a best of 12.26 at 110mph in the 1/4 mile... with "Rapid Rick" Dyer behind the wheel. Car & Driver's Technical Editor, Larry Webster, averaged 121.50, with a peak MPH of 116, so Rick's best ET was no fluke. (The biggest surprise of the day was the weigh-in: 2,866 pounds.) The brakes are finally world class, and both drivers reported that the car was very stable at speed, so The D-Rod goes (and stops) as well as it looks! Let's see: if we add some sticky Goodyear Eagles, change to a Detroit Locker with 4:11s, take off the air cleaner... or we can just keep it the way it is, secure in the knowlege that we can smoke pretty much anything on the street if we have to.
Jeff, Rick and Derrick were a tremendous help in this effort, and in getting the car ready for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I can't thank them- and you- enough. It's a pleasure partnering with the entire Detroit Muscle team. Now all we have to do is wait 3-5 months for the feature to come out! I'll let you know when we have a cover date...
Thanks again for everything and best regards, Chris
P.S. As I may have mentioned, the Street Rodder article on The D-Rod is now confirmed for the February issue, which actually comes out much earlier than February."
All of you Detroit Muscle fans out there be sure to pick up the Febuary Issue of Street Rodding when it come out!

Kid Rock sports Detroit Muscle.
We got an e-mail from a Kid Rock / Detroit Muscle Fan. Here is what he has to say.
"I called your company this morning and spoke with a Derek. My buddy and I are huge Kid Rock fans and have seen him three times on his current club tour..... At each of his shows his road crew have been wearing "Detroit Muscle" clothing................ We live outside of Toronto Canada and are headed to Chicago this weekend to catch Kid Rock on his last club concert and attend his after party. We wanted to find somewhere in Michigan where we could buy some of your clothing, for ourselves and for my son....... Derek was just awesome, he took our order over the phone, took my credit card info for payment and has agreed to meet us in Flint Michigan with our order on Saturday morning. We will wear your clothing to the show and to the after party. Thanks so much to Derek and to Detroit Muscle for making this happen....
P.S.Kid Rock is heading back out on the road for a winter arena tour in January...... You might want to make sure they have enough clothing for this as well..........."

Detroit Muscle throws their support behind Detroit’s Cornerstone Schools.
Once again, the Detroit Muscle team threw their support behind Detroit's Cornerstone Schools. Cornerstone's primary fundraiser is "Pack the Park", in conjunction with the Detroit Tigers- "Pack the Park for Cornerstone Schools". More than $1 million dollars was raised for by this event for the Cornerstone Scholarship Fund. The fund will be used to help provide scholarships to more than 1,000 students at Cornerstone. Once again, the Tigers were overwhelmed by a record turn-out. The children performed our National Anthem along with the DSO Brass, and all the children loved running the bases. Commemorating the Cornerstone "Pack the Park" event is a lithograph by Simon Bull titled "Tiger Fire". See images below. (photos to come)
